Evenly

SMS opt-in

Evenly sends one kind of text message: a one-time 6-digit code that verifies it is you. Users opt in inside the Evenly iOS app and nowhere else, so the consent screen is published here in full for anyone who needs to verify the flow without installing the app.

The opt-in screen, exactly as a user sees it

This is the Add your phone screen. The consent sentence sits directly above the Send code button, and both the Terms and the Privacy Policy are tappable links on the screen itself. The number shown is a reserved example number, not a real one.

The Evenly Add your phone screen. It shows the heading Add your phone, the explanation We use it to verify it is you and to help friends find you. We will text a 6-digit code, a Phone number field containing the example number 555 123 4567 with a plus 1 country selector, the consent sentence By tapping Send code you agree to receive a one-time verification code by SMS. Msg and data rates may apply. See our Terms and Privacy Policy with Terms and Privacy Policy shown as links, and a Send code button at the bottom.

How a user opts in

  1. The user opens the Evenly app and starts signing up or signing in.
  2. On the Add your phone screen, the user types their own mobile number.
  3. The user taps Send code, and one verification code is sent to that number.

Evenly does not buy, rent, or import phone numbers, and no third party can enroll anyone. A number reaches us only because the person holding the phone typed it into this screen.

The consent wording, verbatim

By tapping Send code you agree to receive a one-time verification code by SMS. Msg and data rates may apply. See our Terms and Privacy Policy.

Tapping Send code is the user's express consent to receive that code.

There is no pre-checked box

Consent is an explicit tap on Send code, with the disclosure shown immediately above it. Nothing is selected on the user's behalf, there is no box ticked by default, and the screen cannot be completed without the user typing their own number and tapping the button.

What we send, and on what terms

The full policy is section 4 of our Privacy Policy, and our Terms of Service apply to use of the app.

Who we are

Evenly is built and operated by In The Trenches LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company. The app is in testing ahead of its App Store release, which is why the opt-in screen is published here rather than linked as a public sign-up URL.
